About Me

I have been associated with Liberty Christian as a parent, teacher, and administrator for 20 years. 
This is my second year as principal.  I graduated from Westmont College, where I earned my teaching credential and received a Master's degree in education from Vanguard University. 
I have 3 sons, all of whom graduated from Christian high schools (2 from Liberty) and 4 grandchildren.

Besides being the principal, I also teach 8th grade history.  Although I've taught a wide variety of grade levels and subjects, teaching American history to 8th graders is among my favorites.  This particular curriculum is exciting because it is a survey of all of the history of our nation, up to the present.  Students will be encouraged to think about their own ethnic heritage and how it fits into the melting pot of American culture. Units of study will be focused around projects that help students determine what history has to do with life in the U.S. today.  The first project will be a discovery of each family's roots and immigration history.

 The highlight of the year is the annual 8th grade trip to Washington D.C. and New York City.  During that week (April 1-6) students will have a chance to see many of the national landmarks that they study during the year.   (They will also be allowed to have fun.)  I will be leading the trip again and can't wait!
