In this era of high stakes testing, we want to provide our students with as many opportunities as possible to grow academically. Reading for understanding and appreciation is a skill, which translates effectively into every academic area. The purpose of the required summer reading program is to provide students with the opportunity to read a work which is of interest to them or to read a time-honored classic. We hope to encourage reading for pleasure as well as reading for enlightenment. Please see below for each grade’s specific required summer reading instructions.
